To accommodate the expected demand for family-friendly seating at the Oct. 15 Lowe's Presents The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 300 NASCAR Busch Series race, speedway officials announced the creation of a non-alcoholic section priced to meet family budgets.

"Along with Lowe's, we want to make this race the most family friendly NASCAR event ever," said H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. "We want families who have never experienced NASCAR to check out The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 300 and know they can do it in a comfortable and affordable environment."

A new section of The Charlotte Observer Family Grandstand will be located in the Fourth Turn Terrace and designated as a non-alcoholic seating area. More than 9,000 tickets will be available for general admission seating at family affordable prices. Adult tickets in the section are $25 and tickets for children ages 12 and under are just $10.

The concourse adjacent to the Fourth Turn Terrace will be transformed into the "SpongeBob SquarePants Zone," featuring interactive kids' displays, activities, themed concessions and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie character appearances.

On the track, Team Lowe's Racing NASCAR drivers Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch will compete in Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolets featuring special The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie paint schemes with the popular Nickelodeon characters.

The green flag drops on The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 300 presented by Lowe's at 8 p.m. on Friday night, Oct. 15.

Tickets can be obtained by calling the Charlotte Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS or online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
