Briggs & Stratton 300 Highlights 11th Annual NAKC
The 300-lap race on Lowe¿s Motor Speedway¿s frontstretch quarter-mile oval is part of the World Karting Association¿s 11th annual North American Karting Championship. The three-day event begins Friday, Nov. 5, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 7. It also includes the 30th annual Horstman Gold Cup Series GT Machine Grand Nationals on the serpentine infield sprint track.
Parnell lined up eighth in the 40-kart field for last year¿s Briggs & Stratton 300 and was up to third by lap 140. Then, when earlier leaders Jason Petty and Justin Hill suffered mechanical problems, Parnell took command and never looked back. He was three laps ahead of runner-up Bob Baker when the checkered flag was unfurled.
Grandstand tickets for the Briggs & Stratton 300 on Saturday evening, Nov. 6, are just $5 for adults with children under 6 admitted free. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with pre-race entertainment starting at 6:15 p.m. The green flag on the 300-lap race is slated for 7 p.m.
In addition to the Briggs & Stratton 300, 18 championships will be decided during the Hortsman Gold Cup Series GT Machine Grand Nationals. Road course racing begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, and Sunday, Nov. 7.
