Tracy Rich Earns Sales Person of the Year Honor
Rich, of Charlotte, N.C., joined the Charlotte Motor Speedway sales and marketing staff in August of 2002. Now in his third year with the speedway, Rich secured over $1 million in new business during 2004. His accomplishments included signing RBC Centura as the track's Official Bank and securing naming rights for the new state-of-the-art Time Warner Media Center.
"Our current economy requires a different approach when selling a corporation on the benefits of a motorsports sponsorship," said H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, president and general manager of Lowe¿s Motor Speedway. "Tracy has been very successful in adapting his sales techniques to today's economy. In addition, he is always looking beyond the sporting arena for potential partners that could benefit from an involvement with Lowe¿s Motor Speedway and Speedway Motorsports."
"Tracy is the "clean-up hitter" for our sales department," said Dan Farrell, the track's vice president of sales and marketing. "He has the ability to close the "big deal" and is always searching for the next big sponsor.
"In large part, his success can be attributed to his work ethic and his ability to build relationships with existing as well as potential partners," Farrell added. "Tracy has an outstanding ability to identify non-traditional clients and then promote the benefits of a motorsports sponsorship."
