Pit Crew Challenge- Click here for pictures from The NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Pit Crew Challenge presented by Motorola that took place at the Charlotte Coliseum Thursday night. Ryan Newman will start in a familiar position for Saturday night's NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge at Charlotte Motor Speedway - the driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge will lead the field to the green flag from the pole position. Newman completed the three-lap qualifying effort that included a mandatory pit stop for four tires at a time of 122.443 mph to edge veteran drivers Mark Martin and Rusty Wallace for the top spot.

| Sentimental fan favorite Mark Martin scored one of the biggest and emotional wins of his storied career on Saturday night with a thrilling victory in the NEXTEL All-Star Challenge. The win allowed Martin to bank $1 million in race winnings for his efforts after he held off a late-race charge from Elliott Sadler who came in second by .582 seconds. It was Martin's second triumph in NASCAR's all-star race, his first coming in 1998. The top-five was rounded out by Hendrick Motorsports drivers' Brian Vickers, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. |
