The Black Crowes to Rock All-Star Race
The Black Crowes will perform a one-hour concert on the Miller Lite Rock 'n' Racing stage located between turns one and two in the Charlotte Motor Speedway infield. Gates open at 2 p.m. and the concert begins at 3. Concert admission is free with the purchase of a ticket for the NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge, NASCAR racing's annual all-star event.
In 1990, The Black Crowes roared out of the gate with their multi-platinum debut album, Shake Your Moneymaker, which featured the smash hits "Jealous Again," "She Talks To Angels" and "Hard To Handle." Their second album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard pop albums chart.
The group has sold over 19 million albums and performed more than 2,000 concerts across the country and around the world between 1990 and 2001. After a three-and-a-half year hiatus, the band reunited in March and played seven sold-out shows to 22,000 fans at New York's famed Hammerstein Ballroom before embarking on a nationwide tour.
Accompanying the Robinson brothers during the May 21 concert at Charlotte Motor Speedway will be guitarist Marc Ford, keyboard player Eddie Hawrysch, bassist Sven Pipien and drummer Bill Dobrow.
Tickets for the May 21 running of the NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge, which includes The Black Crowes concert, start at just $21 and are available by calling the speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS or online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
