Lingering showers and wet track conditions forced officials to cancel the opening night of the Pit Pass Cabarrus Super Nationals Friday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

More than 30 of the nation's top late model stock cars were in the pit area when the program was called, and more than 50 are expected for Saturday night's event which will now serve as the season opener at the four-tenths-mile oval. The program includes a full slate of racing for the Lucas Oil NARA DirtCar Series with $10,000 awaiting the winner of the 40-lap feature.

Adult tickets for the Saturday night program are $25 with children 12 and under admitted for just $5. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing slated to start at 7:30 p.m.

The Food Lion AutoFair, which runs rain or shine, will also continue Saturday with gates opening at 8 a.m. More than 7,000 cars and nearly 10,000 vendors have converged on Charlotte Motor Speedway for the world's largest automotive extravaganza.
