Bigfoot, the legendary Monster Truck that launched one of the world's most popular forms of motorsports entertainment, headlines the list of metal-mashing machines scheduled to compete in the Circle K Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash Saturday night, Aug. 20, at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The most unique vehicles in motorsports, Monster Trucks are typically 11-feet tall and tip the scales at nearly five tons. Their custom-built, fuel-injected engines produce between 1,500 and 2,000 horsepower and the gargantuan machines can jump 110 to 115 feet-a distance greater than 14 cars side by side-and up to 25 feet in the air.

Samson, Avenger, Brutus, Equalizer, Gunslinger, Raminator, Rap Attack, Cowboy and Stone Crusher are scheduled to join Bigfoot for an evening of car-crushing destruction.

In addition to the Monster Trucks competing in one-on-one elimination races over a radical obstacle course and then battling in an insane freestyle competition, the wild and crazy CRASHCars will race on the four-tenths-mile clay oval. The new entry-level division features street stock cars with cartoon-style themes and full-contact racing is encouraged.

Activities begin with the Circle K Pre-Race Pit Party where fans can meet the legendary Monster Truck drivers, get autographs and have their pictures taken alongside the trucks. Early entry passes for the pit party will be available at area Circle K stores and those with an event ticket and an early entry pass will be admitted beginning at 4 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. and the Circle K Pre-Race Pit Party runs through 6:30. On-track action starts at 7:30 p.m.

If purchased in advance, reserved seats for the Circle K Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Adult seats are $5 more the day of the event while parking for all events at The Dirt Track is free.
