Monster Trucks Make Area Appearances
Two of the world's most famous Monster Trucks, Bigfoot and Samson, will be on the prowl in the Charlotte area this week, leading up to Saturday night's Circle K Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The trucks will appear at Circle K stores in Harrisburg and Concord, along with the Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant on Speedway Boulevard. The appearances offer outstanding photograph or video opportunities of the gargantuan machines and interview availabilities with the drivers:
Wednesday, Aug. 17
Samson will appear during "Bike Night" at the Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant on Speedway Boulevard at Exit 49 off I-85 from 6 to 9 p.m. Owner/driver Dan Patrick will be on hand to sign autographs and picture opportunities will be available with this legendary Monster Truck.
Thursday, Aug. 18
Samson will be at the Circle K store at the intersection of Highway 49 and Morehead Road in Harrisburg from 4 to 6 p.m. Owner/driver Dan Patrick will also be on hand, greeting fans and signing autographs.
Friday, Aug. 19
Bigfoot will be at the Circle K store at 4930 Davidson Highway in Concord from 4 to 6 p.m. Veteran driver Dan Runte will be on hand to sign autographs and picture opportunities will be available with the machine that launched the Monster Truck industry 30 years ago.
Saturday, Aug. 20
Ten Monster Trucks, including Bigfoot, Samson, Avenger, Brutus, Equalizer, Gunslinger and Raminator, will battle in obstacle course and freestyle competitions during the Circle K Monster Truck Bash at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte Motor Speedway. Ticket holders who obtain a Circle K Pit Party Early Entry Pass will be admitted to the pit party beginning at 4 p.m. with spectator gates opening at 5 p.m. On-track activities begin at 7:30 p.m.
Reserved seats are just $20 in advance for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. Adult tickets are $5 more the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Charlotte Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS.
