The auction is part of Food Lion AutoFair, the nation's largest automotive extravaganza. In addition to the auction, Food Lion AutoFair, which runs Sept. 15-18 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, includes a car show featuring various makes and models from more than 50 clubs; more than 8,000 vendor spaces that offer a plethora of automotive parts and memorabilia; and a car corral that features nearly 1,700 vehicles available for sale or trade.
The list of auction automobiles ranges from a 1929 Ford Model-A rumble-seat roadster to a 2002 Pontiac Trans-Am convertible, many with no reserve, and includes the following highlights:
• 1929 Ford AA Stake Bed Truck, pristine restoration.
• 1930 Ford Model-A Town Sedan, completely restored including new
paint and interior.
• 1949 Ford Club Coupe, 1950's style hot rod with original flathead
V-8 engine.
• 1953 Buick Special, two-door with straight-8 engine and Dynaflow
transmission.
• 1960 Ford Fairlane, two-door, 7,000 miles, all original including
tires.
• 1964 Classic Cobra Roadster, supercharged V-8 engine.
• 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible, 59,000 miles, professional
restoration.
• 1967 Chevelle SS, rare Emerald Turquoise paint with matching
bench-seat interior.
• 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible, 428-cubic-inch V-8
engine.
• 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, fully restored to show condition.
• 1972 Dodge Challenger, 360-cubic-inch V-8 with "slap-stick"
automatic transmission.
• 1974 Chevrolet Corvette, 454-cubic-inch V-8 with factory air
conditioning.
• 1979 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, 17,000 miles, built during final
week of production.
• 1983 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, one owner, 18,000 miles, all original.
