Lowes Foods to Sponsor World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Nov. 4-6
Speedway officials announced today that Lowes Foods has signed on as the title sponsor of the World of Outlaws World Finals Nov. 4-6, at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
The World Finals brings together dirt racing’s three premier divisions, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds, for three nights of on-track action that crowns their respective champions. The partnership marks the first time Winston-Salem, N.C.,-based Lowes Foods has sponsored an event at The Dirt Track.
“We are excited to have Lowes Foods on board for the biggest event at The Dirt Track,” said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. “The World Finals attracts an international crowd bringing in fans from as far away as Australia and New Zealand to watch their favorite drivers battle it out in The Greatest Show on Dirt.”
Opened in 1954, Lowes Foods began as a single store in North Wilkesboro, N.C., and has grown to become a major supermarket chain operating in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Currently Lowes Foods operates more than 100 stores and continues to open new stores throughout the Carolinas.
Lowes Foods has always had a strong customer orientation and was designed to offer the freshest most appealing products at a fair price. Their employees pride themselves in being friendly and helpful and their stores reflect the varied needs and desires of shoppers in different areas.
The stars of the World of Outlaws Series will descend on the four-tenths-mile clay oval for three action-packed days of racing for the fourth consecutive year. For the first time in event history the sprint cars and late models will be joined by their nomadic brethren from the Super DIRTcar Series the Big Block Modifieds.
Among the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series drivers expected to compete on the lightning-fast oval are sprint car legend and 20-time champion Steve Kinser; four-time champion Donny Schatz; point leader Jason Meyers; and sprint car stars Craig Dollansky, Paul McMahan, Joey Saldana and Jason Sides.
World of Outlaws Late Model Series drivers scheduled to participate are point leader and 2009 series champion Josh Richards, who leads title contenders Darrell Lanigan by just 22 points and Tim McCreadie by 94 markers; Scott Bloomquist The Dirt Track’s winningest driver; along with series regulars Shane Clanton, Rick Eckert, Steve Francis, Chub Frank and Austin Hubbard.
Three-day ticket packages start at just $69 for adults and $24 for kids 12 and under. Single day tickets are also available. For more information or to purchase tickets call the speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267) or go online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
