Albemarle, N.C. resident, Angela Crisco was named 2012 Ticket Office Salesperson of the Year during a banquet on Dec. 12 that recognized sales representatives for their accomplishments in the Charlotte Motor Speedway ticket office.

“This is always a special night where we get to acknowledge and celebrate excellence,” said Tim Schuldt, vice president of consumer sales and marketing at Charlotte Motor Speedway. “Although we give many awards, the most coveted is our Salesperson of the Year award. This year’s winner, Angie Crisco, exemplifies the excellence required to win this award. Her dedication, her relationships with her customers, her desire to take a vested interest making sure her customers have a great time at the races, these are just a few of the reasons she reaches her goals and is so deserving of this award.”

Crisco, a Charlotte native who started working for the speedway in the guest services and logistics department in 1992, has worked in the ticket office for 14 years.

“It’s such an honor, I couldn’t believe it when they announced that I’d won,” said Crisco. “It is the best Christmas blessing I could ask for. I’m honored to be part of such a wonderful facility and family.”

In her current position as account executive for ticket sales and camping, Crisco believes that establishing a relationship with her customers is an important step in the selling process.

“I thrive on meeting new people,” said Crisco. “I work to form a relationship with them and try to help make their dreams come true here. It makes me happy to see others happy.”

As a reward, Crisco received a trophy, monetary prize and vacation for two to a destination of her choice. Crisco was also given the opportunity to shave the heads of Schuldt and Director of Ticket Sales Nick Skrabalak after the department won a bet by exceeding their goal in up-sells.

In addition to Crisco, four other ticket office employees won awards for their 2012 selling efforts. Mark Jordan was named the Ticket Operations Employee of the Year.

“It was a nice surprise; I wasn’t expecting it,” said Jordan. “Everyone on the ticket operations team deserves recognition for all the hard work we’ve done throughout the year.”

Jordan, a Hagerstown, Md. native, has worked in the ticket department for five years and is currently the ticket reporting manager.

Concord, N.C. resident and San Jose, Calif. native, Jenni Bowden was the top earner in making outbound calls and won the Outbound Call Dollars award. Bowden, who has worked in the ticket office since 1993, was the 2011 Ticket Office Salesperson of the Year.

Jamie Johnson of Kannapolis, N.C., won the “Workhorse” Award for having the most outbound calls. Johnson made calls on behalf of Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Cathy Hilton of Kannapolis, N.C., won the Most Part-Time Outbound Call Dollars award. Hilton, an account executive with camping and ticket sales, has worked at the speedway for 15 months.
