Carl Edwards Wins NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race
Carl Edwards on winning the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race
Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Aflac Now Hiring Ford, picked up his first win in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race on May 21.
"The key to winning this race was the guys behind me," said Edwards. "That’s all the pressure in the world on these guys. I feel so bad about tearing up the car, but [crew chief] Bob [Osborne] says he has a faster one for next week."
Kyle Busch finished in the second position, while David Reutimann finished third.
"We came up a little bit short, but we got beat by a faster car," said Busch. "The best we could have done was something on a restart. [Carl Edwards] was just so good through the corners. At least now we know what it takes to win one of these things. Maybe we can get it next year. We didn’t have enough at the end."
Next week the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will return to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the 52nd running of the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 29.
