Cast of truTV's "Lizard Lick Towing" to Meet Fans, Sign Autographs at Food Lion AutoFair
Some of TV’s most popular repossession experts will feel right at home among the thousands of cars on hand when the cast of truTV’s “Lizard Lick Towing” makes an appearance at Charlotte Motor Speedway during the Food Lion AutoFair.
Ron and Amy Shirley, Bobby and the rest of the crew from the hit series “Lizard Lick Towing” will take part in the world’s largest automotive extravaganza with appearances, autograph sessions and meet-and-greets with fans.
“We are happier than a fat puppy chasing a parked car to be a part of the Food Lion AutoFair at Charlotte Motor Speedway,” Ron said. “We look forward to every chance we get to visit with our fans, and this will be a great chance to interact with folks who know all about ‘Lizard Lick Towing’ and introduce ourselves to those who might not have seen the show before.”
Lizard Lick Towing follows the exciting and often-dangerous adventures of a repo company in Lizard Lick, N.C., a rural community 20 miles outside of the state’s capital, Raleigh, N.C. The show includes the husband and wife owners Ron and Amy Shirley, longtime friend and repo ‘muscle’ Bobby and entertaining sidekicks Krazy Dave and Juicy. Together, the repo agents seize cars, trailers, farm equipment and other valuables from colorful and typically uncooperative people who the banks claim have fallen behind on their payments. The show, which first aired in February 2011, quickly became one of truTV’s most popular.
The full cast will appear on opening day at the Food Lion AutoFair on Thursday, April 19, with a booth set up in Victory Lane, and will sign autographs and visit with fans from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Amy, Krazy Dave and Juicy will make additional appearances on Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“I hear there is going to be a whole bunch of cars out there, so you know we’ll be ready with the tow trucks if somebody is behind on their payments,” Ron said.
The addition of the “Lizard Lick Towing” cast adds to a full slate of entertainment and fun already lined up for the four-day AutoFair, including car displays paying tribute to Buick, a collection of Richard Childress Racing vehicles and an expanded POWERADE Play Zone with a wide assortment of entertainment options for young visitors, including dog-riding monkeys, stilt walkers, face painters and several interactive games and displays.
The Food Lion AutoFair features more than 150 acres of classic, specialty and rare vehicles, parts and memorabilia. The event, which attracts more than 100,000 car lovers, includes a collector car auction presented by Dealer Auctions, Inc.; nearly 50 car clubs; a flea market with more than 10,000 vendor spaces; and a Manufacturers’ Midway, all offering a huge array of automotive parts and memorabilia.
Hours for the April 19-22 Food Lion AutoFair are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday. Ticket prices are $10 per day for adults; children 13 and under are free.
