In an ongoing effort to create unforgettable at-track experiences for visitors throughout the year and to establish Charlotte Motor Speedway as the world's premier entertainment venue, speedway officials have announced two promotions within its marketing department.

Tim Schuldt, Charlotte Motor Speedway's vice president of consumer marketing and sales, announced the promotions of David MacDonald to the role of senior director of advertising and Nick Skrabalak to the role of senior director of ticket sales. Both promotions are effective immediately.

In his role, MacDonald will oversee consumer advertising for more than 20 Charlotte Motor Speedway events, including traditional media, direct marketing and digital marketing to new and existing media partners nationwide.

"David has done an exceptional job expanding our media partnerships," Schuldt said. "Whether it has been increasing our reach into new markets, the execution of new mediums or gaining more impact with our existing partners, David has delivered exceptional campaigns for nearly 20 events with terrific return on investment in our advertising windows."

Before joining Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2008, MacDonald worked with Unilever Canada in brand management and sales for almost a decade and most recently worked in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with Bellomy Research.

Skrabalak oversees consumer sales for nearly two dozen events across all three of Charlotte Motor Speedway's premier racing venues, including the legendary 1.5-mile superspeedway, zMAX Dragway and The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

"Nick has done an excellent job in developing our sales staff skills, improved the use of our technology tools and has helped us deliver exceptional service to our customers," Schuldt said. "We look forward to implementing new customer relationship management tools and additional sales development initiatives under Nick's leadership."

Skrabalak joined the Charlotte Motor Speedway staff in 2010. Prior to that time, he served as Sales Manager for the PGA Tour and held several sales management positions with Major League Baseball's Pittsburg Pirates.
