Charlotte Motor Speedway's Top Ten Reasons to Come Out for Round Three of Summer Shootout Series Tuesday Night
Looking for something fun to do with the family this week? Here are the top 10 reasons to come out for an evening of affordable family fun as the stars of grassroots racing do battle on the frontstretch quarter-mile oval in round three of the Summer Shootout Series on Tuesday night, June 21.
1. Get a Cool Down from the Summer Heat
Fans can receive a cool down from the summer heat with the help of Charlotte Motor Speedway’s fire truck, Engine 343. The fire truck will make its way down towards Turn 1 and spray the crowd prior to the feature races. Kids can also have some fun with water balloons and satisfy their sweet tooth with a free refreshing popsicle.
2. It’s Cheaper than the Movies
Parents can bring out the kids and make the Summer Shootout Series a true family event. An evening at the Summer Shootout Series is cheaper than taking the family to the movies. Tickets are just $7 for adults and $3 for kids 6 to 12. Children 5 and under get in free.
3. Little Luggies Free Admission
Members of Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Little Luggies Race Club will get in free for round three of the Summer Shootout Series. For more information on the Little Luggies Race Club visit www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/littleluggies/.
4. Special Giveaways for Kids
The first 1,000 kids to enter the gate Tuesday night will receive a free drawstring beach bag. Every week a different giveaway will be given to the first 1,000 kids through the gate.
5. Get Revved Up with Big Wheel Races
A few lucky kids will get to channel their favorite driver on Tuesday night. In a special exhibition event, members of the Little Luggies Race Club be selected to run in a Big Wheels race on the frontstretch of Charlotte Motor Speedway.
6. Chance to Win a Free Beach Vacation
Families can enter for a chance to win a three-day Myrtle Beach vacation courtesy of MyrtleBeachHotels.com. This week’s prize is a three-night stay at the Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort.
7. Play Around in the Powerade Play Zone
Children can visit the Powerade Play Zone located on the concourse and enjoy bounce houses, face painting and interactive games at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Fan Van.
8. See the World’s Largest HDTV
Get a perfect view of the action on the world’s largest HDTV and see interviews with the evening’s event winners. The crowd will get the chance to see themselves on the gigantic 80-foot by 200-foot screen.
9. Witness a Full Slate of Legend Car and Bandolero Racing
Seven divisions of drivers will compete in Legend Cars and Bandoleros on the frontstretch quarter-mile in 20-lap feature races. See the widest array of ages on the track with drivers ranging from just 8 years old to veterans over 60 behind the wheel.
10. Buddy Up with the World’s Fastest Mascot
Catch a glimpse of Lug Nut, the world’s fastest mascot, as he burns rubber on Charlotte Motor Speedway’s frontstretch in his custom convertible Legend Car prior to opening ceremonies. Lug Nut will make his way into the crowd for photo opportunities and meet-and-greets with the kids.
The seven-week, 10-race Summer Shootout Series runs each Tuesday night through July 26, with select Monday night races on July 4 and July 25.
Every week, tickets for the 18th annual Summer Shootout Series are just $7 for adults and $3 for kids 6 to 12. Children 5 and under get in free.
Tickets are available in advance at the speedway ticket office and at Gates 4 and 5 the night of the event. Parking is free. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with opening ceremonies at 7 p.m.
