Dianne Eckert has earned Charlotte Motor Speedway's 2010 Salesperson of the Year, making her the first woman to win the award in the speedway's 51-year history.

Eckert, a California native, who now resides in Concord, earned this prestigious award after securing numerous accounts in 2010 and increasing her business by 135 percent this year.

"Dianne is a very hard working and dedicated individual with a positive attitude," said Dan Farrell, senior vice president of corporate sales at Charlotte Motor Speedway. "She works diligently every day to find new ways to be successful in today's economy. She is passionate about what she does and really understands and appreciates her clients, allowing her to achieve great things."

After spending 11 years teaching at a Christian academy in Texas, Eckert moved to North Carolina in 1995. The next year, Eckert joined Charlotte Motor Speedway working part-time in the speedway's ticket office.
Eckert's determination and persistence propelled her to a full-time position in the speedway's corporate sales department in 2005.

Prior to this year, Eckert's primary focus was selling tours and motor coach ticket packages. With a struggling economy and the tour business down, Eckert looked for new business opportunities for the speedway and created programs for the Cabarrus County Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Herr's and Native Trading. Even with all of her hard work and accomplishments, Eckert humbly notes that she wouldn't be where she is today if it wasn't for a supportive work environment.

As part of her award, Eckert will attend the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship banquet in Las Vegas with her husband Timothy.
