Fireworks Extravaganza Set to Light Up the Night During Rounds Five and Six of The Summer Shootout Series Presented by Dave and Buster's
Fans will be treated to a two-day fireworks extravaganza when Charlotte Motor Speedway celebrates Independence Day on July 4 and 5, during Rounds Five and Six of the Summer Shootout Series.
A full slate of Legend Car and Bandolero racing will take to the track before the fireworks explode above the 1.5-mile superspeedway. The fireworks show will start immediately following the conclusion of feature racing at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Monday and 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
Monday, children who are members of the YMCA or Boys and Girls Club of America will get free admission to Round Five of the Summer Shootout sponsored by Dave and Buster's.
Tuesday will mark the return of the famous principal school bus race. Fans can watch area school principals beat and bang around the frontstretch quarter-mile oval to take home the win for their respective school.
The first 1,000 kids to enter the gate will receive a free pair of glow glasses along with a Dave and Buster's coupon on Monday and a glow necklace on Tuesday. Families can enter for a chance to win a Myrtle Beach vacation each night courtesy of MyrtleBeachHotels.com.
Families are also welcome to come get a cool down from Charlotte Motor Speedway's fire truck, Engine 343, as it sprays water into the grandstands.
The Powerade Play Zone will be open both nights and will feature bounce houses, face painting and interactive games at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Fan Van.
More than 120 cars fill the Summer Shootout Series pit area each week, as three classes of Bandoleros and four divisions of Legend Cars battle it out on the frontstretch quarter-mile oval.
Gates open at 5 p.m. with opening ceremonies for feature races at 7 p.m. each night.
Tickets are just $7 for adults and $3 for kids 6 to 12. Children 5 and under get in free. For more information contact the ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267) or go online to www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
