Dirt is sure to fly this Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Circle K Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash presented by Polar Pop at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. Ten colossal beasts will take on each other and the region's most extreme outdoor obstacle course to show fans what monster trucks are all about. To get fans ready for the action, the night also includes ride-alongs, a pit party and a high-flying stunt that is sure to amaze.

Course of a Different Animal

Not only will monster trucks such as Hooked, Stone Crusher and Red Solo Truck compete against each other, but they will fight the course as well. It took 3,000 cubic yards of dirt, 40 crushed cars, five school buses and a 25-foot-tall jump to create this course, and will take more than a little luck to maneuver it. Timing is the name of the game as trucks run in pairs and must complete the over-under jump. A well-known obstacle at The Dirt Track, the over-under jump, features one monster truck flying through the air while another monster truck drives underneath the jump, hoping to make it through. The monster truck drivers are excited to take on the beast of a course and the fans should be excited as well.

For the First Time Ever, Two Giant Ride Trucks!

Fans have the chance to experience the ride of a lifetime at this year's Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash. For the first time in the history of the show, there will be two giant trucks available to take a ride in! The Stone Crusher ride truck and Sergeant Smash will give fansĀ  the thrill of riding in a real monster truck. Circle K Pre-Race Pit Party

The fun kicks off early at the Circle K Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash Saturday with pre-race activities. Fans can attend the Circle K Pre-Race Pit Party from 4-6 p.m. where they will be able to get autographs, meet with the monster truck drivers and take photos with the massive machines that will compete. Ticket holders can stop by area Circle K stores and bring any size Polar Pop fountain drink for early admission to the Pit Party. Also, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free autograph poster.

Motocross Exhibitions and a Stunt by Super Bob Airborne

Aside from the metal-mashing madness, fans will be in for even more intense action as Team FMX Motocross will take to The Dirt Track in a high-flying motocross exhibition. But the action doesn't stop there. Master stuntman Super Bob Airborne will show off his talent in a daring performance that you won't want to miss.

Annual Scout Camporee Under the Stars at Charlotte Motor Speedway

After the action subsides at The Dirt Track, local scouts will head to the superspeedway to camp in the infield under the stars. Nearly 400 scouts with their leaders will participate in the seventh annual Monster Truck Camporee, which includes a special commemorative sleepover patch and a light breakfast the next morning.

Stone Crusher Looks to Repeat Win

Steve Sims may have taken home the win in both the elimination challenge and the freestyle competition at last year's Monster Truck bash, but this year may be a different story. Not only will Sims have to compete against trucks such as Avenger, Brutus and Equalizer, but he will also have to keep an eye out for his own son, Steven Sims Jr., in the Hooked monster truck. Sims, however, is a seasoned veteran in the monster truck world and looks to continue his success Saturday despite the family feud.

Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with opening ceremonies scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267) or by visiting www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
