Round Six of the Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series was full of excitement as multiple drivers captured their first wins of the season while others continued to add wins to their resumes at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Justin Swilling, Tom Pistone and John Holleman were among those who found their way to victory lane Tuesday night.

The Quaker Steak and Lube Legend Car Pro feature was a family affair as Justin Swilling, of Cohutta, Ga., took the checkers with his brother Evan Swilling loyally playing defense behind him. Starting the race in ninth and thirteenth respectively, Justin and Evan teamed up to work their way through the field.

Tyler Green was the dominant leader of the race and it looked as though he was going to win. However, the Swillings were able to push their way through the mayhem, which produced six cautions, to make it up to Green’s bumper. The two battled with Green for a full lap, until Evan pushed Justin to the lead on lap 17, sending Green back to fifth.

Justin drove on to get his first win of the season as Evan battled a surging Steven Cantrell for second.  Evan and Cantrell crossed the line in what looked to be a dead-heat, but Evan had a slight edge and finished runner-up to his brother. Cantrell settled for third while early leader Green fought back to take fourth.

Pistone, Mooresville, N.C., got his second win of the season in the Auto Country Club Legend Car Masters feature, running away from to field to capture the victory.

Scott Whitaker started on the pole and pulled away with the early lead as Pistone followed behind in second. It didn’t take long for Pistone to chase down the bumper of Whitaker and on lap 6 Pistone took away the lead as he dove to the inside in Turn 2. No one would come close to catching Pistone as he took the checkered flag in the 20-lap race with a big lead on second-place finisher Jon Craig. Former NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Mark Green crossed the line in third.

In the Bandolero Outlaws feature, Holleman, of Winston-Salem, N.C., got his first win of the season and the seventh of his Summer Shootout Series career after starting in sixth. Holleman took the lead on lap 2 and didn’t look back as he cruised on for the victory.

The biggest battle of the night was between Stefan Parsons and Layton Sullivan as they fought tooth and nail for the second position. Sullivan would ultimately lose the runner-up spot on the final restart as Parsons went to the inside in Turn 1 on lap 13. Sullivan would settle for third in the race, which was shortened to just 15 laps and had four cautions.

Other winners of the night included David Garbo, Jr., of Stonington, Conn., in the NOS Energy Legend Car Semi-Pro feature, Clayton Weatherman, of Wentzville, Mo., in the Legend Car Young Lions feature, Austin Green, of Concord, N.C., in the Bandolero Bandits feature and Elizabeth Montgomery, of Charlotte, N.C., in the Bandolero Beginner Bandits feature.
