Chaos reigned during Week Two of the Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series as Lug Nut, the world's fastest mascot, ran away with the win in the Mascot Mania go-kart race. Daniel Hemric picked up his second win in the Legends Car Pro division, while Carson Ferguson won his third consecutive Legend Car Young Lions division race and Chandler Smith picked up his third Bandolero Bandits win, among others.

Revpar, the brand new mascot of the Cabarrus County Convention and Visitor's Bureau jumped out to an early lead in the Mascot Mania go-kart race. Lug Nut moved from the back of the pack to third by lap 2, and was fighting for the lead soon after.

Each mascot had a dodge ball that they could use to hit another mascot and send them to the back and several had to drop to the rear of the field after being hit. In the end, Lug Nut defended his turf and took home the checkered flag. Revpar finished second, Coop, of Quaker Steak & Lube finished third, Bucky the Pirate of East Tennessee State University finished fourth, the Davidson Wildcat finished fifth, Chubby Checker of the Charlotte Checkers finished sixth, Tim E. Gator of the Kannpolis Intimidators finished seventh, Monkey Joe finished eighth and Blue the Hound of the Charlotte Hounds came home in ninth.

In the Legend Car Pro division feature, Hemric held off a hard charging William Byron to capture his second win of the season. Jared Irvan jumped out to an early lead, but Hemric reeled him in by lap 4. Byron spun early in the race, but made his way back to the top five by lap 5.

The second caution flag flew on lap 8 for Michael Torres. Hemric continued to hold off Byron through the restart and would lead the rest of the race. Byron finished second, Kason Plott finished third, Steven Cantrell came home fourth and Greg Lang rounded out the top-five.

Ferguson won his third consecutive race in the Legend Car Young Lion division feature, edging out Stefan Parsons. Ferguson and Parsons have now placed first and second, respectively in each of the three races this season. Ferguson, a Charlotte native, chose the outside lane after race leader Ryan Millington spun out on lap 15—a move that bolted Ferguson from fifth to second. Ferguson quickly passed Parsons on lap 16 and never looked back, recording the fastest lap of the race with 17.036 seconds.

Alex Murray finished in third behind Ferguson and Parsons. Christian Eckes avoided the five cautions in the race and finished in fourth. Rounding out the top-five was Michael Womack.

Chandler Smith, of Talking Rock, Ga., dominated the LiveWell Homes Bandolero Bandits division all day, taking a victory in both last week's make-up race and the night's feature race. An inversion set Austin Geer as the race leader with Connor Younginer following close behind.

Amidst a race full of cautions, 2-time second place finisher D.J. Canipe shot his way from fourth to first on the second lap following a restart. But after another caution following directly after, Smith began his steady climb to first, passing Geer in fourth on lap 4, then ripping past Younginer and Daniel Wilk on lap 7. Following a caution on lap 8, Smith used his momentum from the restart to speed past Canipe to take the top spot for the remainder of the race. A hard-fighting Canipe finished in second, Younginer followed in third, Geer took fourth and Ryleigh Lemonds claimed fifth.

Other winners included Tom Pistone, of Mooresville, N.C., in the Security Force Legend Car Masters division; Devin O'Connell, of Madison, Conn., in the Quaker Steak & Lube Legend Car Semi-Pro division; Ashton Winger of Fayetteville, Ga., in the Bandolero Outlaws; and Elijah Todd of Roebuck, S.C., in the Beginner Bandits.

Winners of the June 10 features postponed due to rain were Byron in the Legend Car Pro division, Chase Purdy in Bandolero Outlaw division, Smith in the LiveWell Homes Bandolero Bandit divsion and Cameron Bolin in the Bandolero Beginner Bandits division.
