Marshmallow Roasting Hot At Carolina Christmas
Business is picking up at the marshmallow roasting pits at Carolina Christmas thanks in large part to the recent cold snap that has enveloped Charlotte Motor Speedway and the rest of the Carolinas.
“We’ve seen the crowds grow around the fire pits as the temperature dropped this week,” said Mike Miller, president of Miller Davis Agency, the event producer. “It’s a great way to warm up on a cold night and satisfy your sweet tooth with a s’more at the same time.”
Visitors can bring their own marshmallows to roast over one of the four toasty fire pits or they can purchase marshmallow kits with sticks for just $1.75 or s’more kits for only $2.75, courtesy of Village Fudge located in the North Pole Shoppes.
The fire pits and surrounding stone work were provided by Johnson Concrete, a North Carolina company with divisional offices in Concord, Salisbury, Lexington, Raeford and Willow Grove, N.C.
Mary Bargett, of Concord, has become a big fan of the holiday lights both on the track and from the fires.
“We went through the light show and we enjoyed it tremendously. My twins and my son had a great time,” said Bargett, who visited the show with her family. “When we roasted marshmallows I drank a peppermint latte, which was the best thing!”
