Speedway Promotes Cremer, Spiegel, Johnson and Greci In Event and Guest Services Roles
To further strengthen its Fans First commitment toward providing the best entertainment experience in motorsports, Charlotte Motor Speedway has made several personnel appointments in the areas of event logistics and guest services.
The promotions were announced by Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Doug Cremer has been named executive director of events. In his new role, Cremer will be responsible for oversight of event management logistics and the fan experience, including track services, safety, guest services and logistics. He joined Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2001 as an intern in sales and marketing and was named assistant manager of customer service and logistics that same year. Cremer most recently served as director of guest services and logistics.
Lindsay Spiegel has been promoted to director of guest services and logistics, replacing Cremer. She will be responsible for many aspects of the fan experience at Charlotte Motor Speedway, including guest services, fan entertainment, event crew training, overall facility security, parking and traffic management and oversight of the Charlotte Motor Speedway Fan Council. Spiegel joined Charlotte Motor Speedway in March 2005, as a ticket sales associate. She joined the guest services and logistics department in January 2006 and most recently served as manager of guest services and logistics.
Shaun Johnson has been promoted to senior manager of track services, responsible for all of Charlotte Motor Speedway’s safety personnel and operations, including emergency and fire response. Johnson will also coordinate with NASCAR on event management and logistics surrounding the speedway’s NASCAR events. He joined the speedway in 2009 as manager of track services, after serving in emergency and track services roles with NASCAR.
Matt Greci has been promoted to senior manager of events. In his new position, Greci will be responsible for all operations at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, as well as event planning at Charlotte Motor Speedway, including pre-race show coordination for NASCAR races and event logistics for the speedway’s Food Lion AutoFairs and Goodguys Southeastern Nationals car shows. Greci joined Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2004 as an intern and was named track rental and suite coordinator in 2006. He most recently served as manager of zMAX Dragway.
“Doug, Matt, Shaun and Lindsay are among our top performers and we’re looking forward to seeing them continue to excel in their new roles,” said Smith. “These appointments will further strengthen our already talented events and guest services staff and will continue to allow us to produce one-of-a-kind events that offer unmatched fun and entertainment for our fans.”
