Tim Brown Captures UNOH Southern Slam 150 Victory
Tim Brown captured the victory in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour UNOH Southern Slam 150. After George Brunnhoelzl III led most of the laps, Brown took advantage of a late race restart to take the lead and drive away from the field.
“To come here and win at Charlotte is pretty cool," said Brown. "We had a car that had real good bite. We unloaded good and ran well in practice. This is good for all our sponsors who stood behind us all year. It was a great race. We had a great car. I knew George [Brunnhoelzl] was going to be hard to beat. Then a car put some fluid down and we were able to beat him to the inside on the restart. And then we were able to drive on for the victory. It hasn’t been the season we wanted. We are not where we wanted to be in the points. This is something for us to build on for next year. This is a good race team. I would say that this ranks right up there with one of my biggest wins. This is a great deal for our family. I’m all jacked up.”
Brunnhoelzl finished second, Burt Myers took third, Andy Seuss finished fourth and Jason Myers rounded out the top five.
