Walk Where NASCAR Legends Have Raced During Speedway Children's Charities Track Walk at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Fans will have the opportunity to see Charlotte Motor Speedway like never before on Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. before the Bank of America 500 during Speedway Children's Charities annual Track Walk.
Track Walk participants will walk around the legendary 1.5-mile superspeedway prior to one of the most anticipated races of the 2010 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Fans will get the chance to witness the extreme 24-degree banking in Turn 2 up close, hit the apex in the corner of Turn 3 and cross the finish line at the checkered flag - all on foot!
Donations for participating in the Track Walk can be made online for $25 in advance or $35 at Charlotte Motor Speedway during race week, Oct. 13-16. Online registration is available at http://charlotte.speedwaycharities.org/events/nascar_foundation_walk/.
Children 16 and under may walk for free with a paid adult; one child per adult registration. All walkers, including children must pick up their wristbands, t-shirts and sign waivers the day of the event.
"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans to walk the historic pavement on which some of the most legendary NASCAR drivers have raced and help out Speedway Children's Charities at the same time," said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway and president of speedway Children's Charities Charlotte Chapter.
The event will kick-off at 9:45 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. Money raised will help fund grants that continue work in support of children in need.
