All-Star Challenge Weekend Pit Note #5
Roush Fenway Reunites With Valvoline: In an afternoon press announcement officials from Roush Fenway Racing have signed a multi-year deal with Valvoline as an associate sponsor.
In making the announcement team owner Jack Roush noted he was glad to have a chance to reunite with a sponsor with whom he had enjoyed so much success. "We have to thank them for coming back," said Roush. "The fans will see something familiar to them. This will help our technical relationship with Roush Fenway Racing. It's great for all the depth we can have."
The association will complement the Evernham Motorsports relationship that Valvoline already has and will not affect that program.
David Ragan (No. 6 AAA Ford): "That was a good lap and I didn't think we had run that fast. We didn't get to make a mock qualifying run in practice so I really didn't know what to expect. The track here changes so much from the time we practice until the time we qualify. It's nice to win qualifying, but we're here to win the race."
Carl Edwards (No. 99 Office Depot Ford): That was the most nervous I've been in qualifying in a long time. I wasn't sure if it was going to be fast enough to win the pole. It's such a short race that qualifying can really help your chances of winning and advancing into the big show."
