CARQUEST 300 Post-Race notes:

Kasey Kahne (race winner, first win at Lowe's Motor Speedway, No. 9 Country Crock Dodge): "We brought a brand new car and it was exceptional. The guys did a real good job. We got out where we needed to be and got some clean air. It's been a long time between wins. Maybe we can do this tomorrow night, too."

Casey Mears (runner-up, No. 24 National Guard/30th Heavy Brigade Combat Chevrolet): "Needed some more bite. We fought that all weekend. For us, it was a good comeback. Had a hard time all night getting the front end to turn right. We made up some ground and stayed out. Kasey had a great car tonight. Any time you have a good run, you can take something from it. It's good to represent the National Guard on Memorial Day weekend."

Clint Bowyer (third place, No. 2 BB&T Chevrolet): "We just fought tight all weekend, too. It was fun. We kinda lucked out at the end and got some track position." (It has been a good weekend, so far, as Bowyer finished second Friday night in a race at The Dirt Track at Lowe's Motor Speedway, across the road from the speedway.)

Regan Smith (No. 4 U.S. Army Chevrolet): "It was fast. These guys gave me a great car all night. I was whining like a banshee there. They kept me calm. I had Mark Martin on the radio tonight, which was pretty cool. I am just proud of this whole U.S. Army team. It's Memorial Day weekend, so it's pretty special having the Army on the car and running well for them. It definitely went as planned. I'm proud of all the guys. We couldn't ask for a better night. We were staying in position, and staying out of trouble, and went for it at the end when it was time. A good night all around and happy with that result."

Scott Wimmer (No. 21 AutoZone Chevrolet): "Not a bad night for us. You know, the second time in the car and two top-10s. I think this was my sixth race this year. And we're racing against guys that have been racing 14, 15 races, with both cars, both series. So, I'm happy with it. I need to do a little bit better job. My communication isn't perfect. I was excited with a top-10. We'll get out of here and move on to Dover. They have been happy with the way I have been running."
