Bank of America 500 Pit Note #9
ARIC ALMIROLA (no. 18 Slim Jim Monster Chevrolet, top-finishing Busch Series regular): "I really appreciate all the hard work that everybody on the team put into this. We had a good car and we just got too tight there at the end. I couldn't do anything with the leaders, even though I wasn't that far off from them. It's nice to be able to be as competitive as we were and run with those guys like we should. I'm going to get my chance to run about 12 races next year in the Cup Series. I'm pretty excited about that. Every time I do have a good run like this I think I earn more respect from everybody and that makes it a lot more fun to race on Sundays. What's strange about this is we didn't do anything different tonight than we did in the past few races here."
DENNY HAMLIN (no. 20 Rockwell Automation Chevrolet): "It ended up being a solid night for us but a lot of guys had problems and fell out. We struggled all day and ended up getting kind of lucky there at the end. We had about a 10th-place car and just had some breaks go our way. We just missed it a little but we'll just learn from our mistake."
JASON KELLER (no. 11 Sweet Baby Ray's Barbeque Sauce Chevrolet): "It was a huge start for us, but definitely a disappointing way for it to end. This was a brand-new car, unfortunately. All we can do is all we can do. We can't downgrade what we've done with career start 418. We can look forward to 419."
