Bible Launch - More than 31,000 Americans will have a hand in creating a unique New International Version of the Bible - the first NIV Bible ever written "one verse, one person" at a time. Zondervan, the world's leading publisher of Bibles, out of Grand Rapids, Mich., embarked on the project last month. The Bible Across America project will visit 90 cities and 44 states, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the NIV translation introduced in 1978. A team of four people will crisscross the U.S. over the next four months, enlisting the help of American people of all ages to create the new Bible. One of the stops for the foursome will be the Bank of America 500 on Oct. 11 here at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The group will also be stopping at other events, churches, universities, retail stores, American landmarks and other venues before the tour is completed. For more information on the tour, visit www.BibleAcrossAmerica.com.

Color Schemes - Several drivers will be sporting different paint schemes in Saturday night's Bank of America 500. Those drivers include local fan favorite and Kannapolis, N.C., native Dale Earnhardt Jr., who will be sporting an orange paint scheme for AMP Energy Relaunch. Robby Gordon will carry a black paint scheme with sponsorship by Menard's, while fellow Chevrolet driver Casey Mears will wear a sponsorship paint scheme for Pop-Tarts. Toyota driver Kyle Busch will drive a pink paint job to help raise awareness for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Race for the Cure during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Elliott Sadler will also sport a special pink paint scheme this week in honor of his mother, Bell, who was diagnosed last year with breast cancer.

Going for a Milestone - There are three Sprint Cup Series drivers hoping to make history of sorts in qualifying for the Bank of America 500 as they each hope to become the 500th driver to start a race at Charlotte Motor Speedway at NASCAR'S top level. Brad Keselowski, Bryan Clauson and Scott Speed will also be attempting to qualify for their first Sprint Cup Series start on Saturday night.

Donatos' Pizza Sponsors Stanton Barrett For Dollar General 300 - In the first press announcement held today in the Time Warner Media Center at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Joe Drury, partner of Donatos' Pizza Carolinas, announced the company would sponsor the No. 30 Nationwide Series car and driver Stanton Barrett in Friday night's Dollar General 300.

In making the announcement, Drury noted that Donatos' will have 15 stores in the Carolinas by year's end. "We think this is a good time to do this," said Drury. "What better place to announce that we are coming to the Carolinas than here at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This will be our hometown. We are excited about sponsoring Stanton Barrett and the No. 30 car in Friday night's race. This is big time for us."

Barrett was also excited to have Donatos' on board for the weekend. "We are very pleased to have Donatos' support," said Barrett. "This is very important to our team to have them increase their involvement. We appreciate their becoming our primary sponsor. We are glad they stuck it out with us."
