Dale Jr. Announces New Sponsor for his Nationwide Team
Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced that his Nationwide Series operation, JR Motorsports, will carry primary sponsorship from Unilever on the No. 5 Chevrolet for 10 races in 2009.

Earnhardt Jr. will share driving duties of the No. 5 with veteran Mark Martin and up-and-coming driver Landon Cassill behind. The schedule for each driver will be announced at a later date.

Unilever is a multi-national company that owns more than 400 of the world's most recognized food and home health care brands. The 10-race sponsorship will be divided among four of the company's most popular brands - Hellmann's mayonnaise, Ragu pasta sauce, Klondike ice cream and Lipton tea.

"I've been eating Klondike since I was a kid," said 19-year-old driver Cassill.

That comment prompted a comical response from PRN's Doug Rice: "You've been eating them since you were a kid? When was that, yesterday?"

Marc Shaw, the Director of Integrated Marketing for Unilever, said he was thrilled to add Earnhardt Jr. and his No. 5 Nationwide Series team to its portfolio.

"We are thrilled to be involved with one of the top teams in the Nationwide Series as well as some of the best drivers with Dale Jr., Mark Martin and Landon Cassill," Shaw said. "Our sponsors will be aligned with two of the top drivers in the business and one that's coming up fast. Our company couldn't be any more excited than we are right now because taking our advertising into NASCAR is going to take us to that level. Dale Jr. also has the fans that we want to reach."

Earnhardt Jr. said he was also thrilled with the newest of his team's sponsorship acquisitions.

"I'm pleased to add Unilever to our teams and I think it will be a big help to us moving forward," said Earnhardt Jr. "I think it's going to bring a lot to our table in 2008."
