SPEED Announces New Book - SpeedTVbooks.com announced today, in the Time Warner Media Center, the June debut of "Manmade Thunder." The author of the book is award-winning writer Godwin Kelly and features the history of NASCAR. The book will be distributed through SpeedTVbooks.com. It features more than 200 photographs never before available to the public, taken by late photographer Don Hunter. Award-winning publisher dakini is producing the book.
Coors Announces New Cold-Activated Can - In another press conference held in the Time Warner Media Center Theater, officials from Coors announced a new cold-activated can will arrive May 15th in the Coors Light and Coors Banquet brands. They will also feature the new Coors Cold-Activated Pole Award for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The new cans feature graphics of mountains that turn blue when the beverage is at the optimal drinking temperature. It is the latest in an innovative program.
Special All-Star Paint Schemes - Some drivers will shine in special paint schemes in Saturday night's NASCAR Sprint Showdown and the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will race in a special white Dale Jr. Foundation paint scheme on his No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in combination with other All-Star fundraisers. Carl Edwards will be in a special silver-and-black AFLAC No. 99 Ford out of the Roush Fenway Racing stables. Other drivers who have changed their colors are Martin Truex Jr., who will race the silver-and-black National Wild Turkey Federation No. 1; Kevin Harvick, in the even-brighter yellow No. 29 "Feel the Clean" Pennzoil Chevrolet; Robby Gordon, in the No. 7 Jim Beam/Operation Home Front Toyota; and Kurt Busch in the No. 2 blue-and-gold "Taste Protector Lid" Miller Lite Dodge. Clint Bowyer will be in the No. 33 BB&T Chevrolet this weekend.
