Bank of America 500 Pit Note #4
Danica Patrick in Media Center - Mark Martin spent some time with Danica Patrick Thursday morning at Charlotte Motor Speedway, helping the IndyCar Series driver shake down her NASCAR Nationwide Series car for Friday’s Dollar General 300.
“I didn’t go as fast as him, to my disappointment but not my shock,” said Patrick, who was 26th fastest in the final Nationwide practice session. “He’s been really nice, ever since the first time I met him.”
Patrick didn’t have the same kind words for fellow Nationwide competitor James Buescher (no. 10 AccuDoc Solutions) who collided with Patrick last week at the Auto Club Speedway, a move she believes was intentional. She said that despite several opportunities, Buescher has made no effort to talk to her about last weekend’s incident. Asked if she would retaliate on track, Patrick hedged.
“I’m not going to make it my mission to go take him out,” Patrick said. “But if, in any way, he tries to come after me, I’m going to need to take care of it. We’ll see if he plays nice.”
Carl Edwards and Avon - It was anounced during a press conference Thursday at the Time Warner Media Center that Carl Edwards would be the face of a new fragrance from Avon called Turn4XT. The men’s cologne was described by Avon Director of Fragrance Marketing Danielle Druck as being “really manly” and embodying courage and fierce competition.
“Yeah, and I don’t know if you noticed, but there were just women piled all around me at the door,” Edwards joked. “The fragrance is great; my wife really likes it, and that’s key for me.”
It’s an interesting bit of life coming full circle for Edwards’ mother, Nancy Sterling, who used to sell Avon products.
