U.S. Legend Cars International Unveils U.S. Legends Modified Dirt Car – In an evening press conference, officials from U.S. Legend Cars unveiled the future of dirt track racing. The new, highly affordable U.S. Legends Modified Dirt Car was developed by U.S Legend Cars, Speedway Motorsports Inc. and Ray Evernham Enterprises.
Evernham has overseen the design, fabrication and testing of the new cars, which are being manufactured and sold by U.S. Legends Cars International and its dealer network. The new car is built on the same common platform as the current Legends Car, but offers a more powerful engine, improved handling and a bigger car body.
“The infrastructure that has already been created is phenomenal,” said Evernham. “It’s great to be partnered with someone who wants to give back to the sport. This will give drivers the opportunity to become the next Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart. This is a car that I am really, really excited about. We have had an awful lot of help in this. This really was a good team effort. It is affordable and -- first and foremost -- a safe car. The car came out really nice. We have run tons and tons of laps and with seven different drivers. We have done a lot of testing with it. The car is something that can be enjoyed by amateur drivers. This is an entry-level car for an entry-level program.”
“To have this car to add to what I like to call backyard racing is great,” said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. “This gives kids, adults and everyone in between a chance to go out and race and have fun for an affordable price. It really gives people all over the country and the world a chance to race. They want to do it affordably and simply. We decided we could provide the car and the series to do it.
The series will start next season at East Lincoln Speedway in Stanley, North Carolina.
