Thirty kids will get the thrill of a lifetime Tuesday at Charlotte Motor Speedway when they race their Power Wheels on the same course where NASCAR stars like Dale Earnhardt Jr., Joey Logano and David Ragan got their starts in motorsports.

As part of Round Nine of the 19th annual Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series, which features the world’s best Legend Car and Bandolero racing, members of the speedway’s Little Luggies kids club will battle it out for bragging rights on the frontstretch quarter-mile during the inaugural Little Luggies 600.

The winner will receive a one-of-a-kind trophy and be crowned the champion of the Little Luggies 600. The race is open to kids ages 4 to 7. To sign up, parents can call Charlotte Motor Speedway at 704-454-4718 or email .

Also on Tuesday, first responders from the Harrisburg Fire Department, the Albemarle Police Department and Fire Department, Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and Charlotte Fire Department will duke it out in 13-ton machines in the final school bus slobberknocker of the year. Their race was postponed from last week due to inclement weather.

In addition, the Legend and Bandolero feature races that were postponed from Round Eight will be run prior to the Round Nine races. Fans who attended last week’s weather-shortened event can bring their tickets stubs for admission on Tuesday.

The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a free Frisbee courtesy of title sponsor, Jack in the Box. Plus, kids can have fun in the POWERADE Play Zone, featuring bounce houses, interactive games, face painting and more.

Fans can enter to win a pair of tickets to NOS Energy Mayhem @ the Max presented by Kooks Custom Headers, JE Pistons and Roush Yates Performance Parts on Aug. 18 at zMAX Dragway. They can also register at the U.S. Legend Cars International booth to win a Legend Car driving school.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with feature racing at 5:10 p.m. Tickets for the Summer Shootout Series are $7 for adults and are available in advance at the speedway ticket office or at Gates 4 and 5 the night of the event. Kids 13 and under get in free.
