Responsible drinking, quiet time observance and a general "family camping" atmosphere make the Turn 4 Family Campground one of our most popular.  It's a great place to bring your children or grandchildren. This standard, no-hookup campground is adjacent to a modern restroom/shower facility and is conveniently located near the Turn 4 grandstands.

Tim Flock Campground
Weekly Package (Monday 5/23-Sunday 5/29): $150
Tim Flock Campground is centrally located to everything you want to enjoy while visiting Charlotte Motor Speedway.  This standard, no-hookup campground is highly accessible to the Fan Zone and the Turn 1 grandstands.  It is also adjacent to a convenience store, gas station and liquor store.   As the only general admission campground at Charlotte Motor Speedway, you will be offered your favorite campsite upon arrival, on a first-come first-serve basis. Due to the close proximity to the track, extra tow vehicle passes are available for $50 each.

Entrance “P” Campground
Weekly Package (Monday 5/23-Sunday 5/29): $150
If you have a large RV and prefer a flat grassy campsite, then Entrance "P" Campground is for you!  This standard, no-hookup campground is located behind Turn 2 at Entrance P off Morehead road. Convenient trams are available around the perimeter of the speedway and to the frontstretch before the race.

Morehead Farms Campground
Weekly Package (Monday 5/23-Sunday 5/29): $125
You will fall in love with the serene back-to-nature feel of Morehead Farms Campground.  A small pond and wooded glen allow campers to kick back and relax. This standard, no-hookup campground is located off Morehead Road on the backside of the speedway.  Convenient trams run before and after the race, or a short 15-minute walk gets you to the frontstretch.

Peninsula Campground
Weekly Package (Monday 5/23-Sunday 5/29): $125

Peninsula Campground is located behind the speedway off of the I-600 service road. A very short walk will land you on the back side of the speedway and trams are available that run around the perimeter of the speedway before the race. There is also a handicapped section located in this area.

Rock City Campground

Looking to have a NASCAR party with family and friends?  Then Rock City Campground is the place for you.  This standard, no-hookup campground is located off Bruton Smith Blvd. at Gate Z, just a short drive to Concord Mills Mall, restaurants and convenience stores. A dedicated tram runs from Rock City to the frontstretch before and after the race or it’s just a three-quarter of a mile walk.

Perched between Turn 1 and Turn 2, the 600 Terrace is our most exclusive RV camping experience. There are three (3) sizes of private spaces to choose from: 30' by 60'; 36' by 60'; 40' by 60'. These asphalt pads are trackside and provide spectacular views of the racing action without ever leaving your amenities. Your 600 Terrace services include water and sewer hookups, 30 and 50-amp service, closed-circuit TV and Wi-Fi connections. Pit Pass + Pit Party

Now your pre-race pit pass has even more to offer!  The all-new Race Day Pit Party puts you closer than ever before with the stars of the sport. Before the Coca-Cola 600 rolls into high gear, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in Q&A sessions with NASCAR drivers Danica Patrick, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano. Along with access to the Lee Brice concert stage area. If you want a chance to be front and center for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver introductions on the pre-race stage, make sure you upgrade your pit pass to a driver introduction pass.

STEM Field Trip

The STEM Field Trip is an educational experience geared towards school groups and will last approximately 2.5 hours during Non-Event times. The students will rotate through 5 stations – each activity will take 25 minutes and we’ve allowed 5 minutes to rotate to the next station.

Stations:

  1. Track Tour

The students will take a guided tour and will see the banking of the track and other engineering/design features of the 1.5 mile speedway. Students will determine the speed of the van based on the time it took to go around the track.

 

  1. Traction/Friction

The materials for this station are: three block cars made with a different material on the bottom (indoor carpet, Formica, rubber conveyor belting); adjustable ramps with the same surface as the cars; spring scale; spray water bottle.

The objective is to determine the inclination, angle and rise to run, at which each combination of tire surface (bottom of the car) and road surface initiates sliding. In addition, the conveyor belting surface can be misted with the water bottle to illustrate why race cars with slicks don’t race in the rain.

 

  1. Acceleration

The materials for this station are: 2 adjustable ramps; die cast cars; tape measures; stop watches. The purpose of this station is to explore the velocity of a car moving down a slope as the angle increases. The speed of the car is to be determined as it rolls down the ramp at varying angles.

 

  1. Balance

This station uses a US Legends Car; scales; jack. With the car placed on scales, the students will learn that the weight of each wheel refers to the fraction of the total weight carried by each wheel. They will also learn about “cross weight” and what how the fraction of weight changes per tire when the wedge bolt or jack bolt is adjusted.

 

  1. Radio Controlled Cars (RC Cars)

This station uses an RC car; bumpers; stop watches; 1 extra set of tires. The students will race the car from a pre-determined Point A to Point B and then back to Point A; change all 4 tires (this extra set of tires will be of a different texture); race the car down the same path. Students will time each race and make determinations based on each tire texture.

 

During each exercise, the students will record the data, and then make a prediction based on that data. This curriculum is based on a 5th- 7th grade level. The cost is $15 dollars per student, there is no cost for teachers. The field trip starts around 9:30 am and will go until noon. These times are flexible. Lunch is not included but students may pack a lunch and eat after the rotations are finished. The preferred number of students is 45-120 per day.

After I have purchased my tickets, when and where can I pick them up? 
If you have purchased tickets in advance, but did not have them mailed, you may pick them up at the Will Call window. Up until race week, the Will Call window is located in Charlotte Motor Speedway's ticket office on the second floor of Smith Tower. During the week of the event, the Will Call window moves to Gate 4 or any open ticket booth. Hours are 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. except the day of event.

Where is the best place to park at the speedway? 
There is free parking surrounding the entire speedway for your convenience. Check the parking and driving directions page to find the free parking area closest to your seats and/or your traveling point. 

Handicap Parking:
We have reserved and unreserved handicap parking areas. All reserved handicap parking is sold in conjunction with a wheelchair reserved seat. Those parking areas are Ford and Toyota Fourth Turn Terrace. Please contact the Charlotte Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267) to purchase these passes. 

For unreserved handicap parking areas located on the frontstretch, use parking directions to the Orange Zone. For the backstretch, follow the Green Zone directions.

How do I get to the souvenirs and hospitality sections? 
Located outside of Turn 1 near the speedway's main entrance, the Fan Zone includes merchandise haulers with all the latest gear from NASCAR's most popular drivers, interactive games and displays.

Where are the nearest ATMs located? 
There are several ATMs located throughout the facility. Check your fan guide when you arrive at the speedway for locations.

Where is lost and found located?
Lost and found is located in the Ticket Service Department on the 2nd floor of the Smith Tower in the front of Charlotte Motor Speedway. Phone 704-455-3200 or email us at tickets@charlottemotorspeedway.com.

Can I bring a cooler to the race? If so, can I bring alcoholic beverages into the speedway? 

Guests may bring a 14" by 14" by 14" cooler into Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway and The Dirt Track containing food and beverage, provided that all substances contained in the cooler are legal and there are no glass containers or other potentially hazardous materials.

Coolers may be brought into the facility until one hour after the start of the race. *NASCAR EventsOnly

Coolers are not allowed in The Speedway Club, Smith Tower or any other club or corporate suite.

All coolers, backpacks and other types of carrying cases will be searched upon entry.

What types of foods are available at the Speedway's concession stands? 
A variety of foods such as nachos, hamburgers and hot dogs can be found at concession stands located around the Speedway. There are also a number of independent vendors and food trucks like What-a-Burger,What’s the Catch and Maryland Crab and Co., Ooowee BBQ and What the Fries. They will be serving a mix of slow-smoked barbecue fresh gourmet seafood, a BBQ Sundae Eggroll and French Fries smothered in anything your tastebuds desire. Fans looking to explore new flavors can enjoy dishes like the BBQ Crunch Cup, a 16-ounce cup filled with pulled pork, famous Flip Flop Robs BBQ Sauce, chili, corn chips and more. For your sweet tooth there will be Salted Caramel MoonPie Milkshakes, a delicious sugary mix of Salted Caramel MoonPie and Vanilla ice cream, or the Wonut, a glazed waffle and donut combined.

Is drive-up camping available? 
Yes. All camping on speedway property is reserved, but race weeks operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Each camping area is staffed with 24-hour security and is either located near a shower house or has shuttles running daily to our restroom/shower facilities.

How do I contact someone at the race in the event of an emergency? 
In the event of an EMERGENCY please call 911. Please locate the nearest speedway security representative or customer service representative to assist you. They are located throughout the facility and will gladly help you with this situation or call 704-455-3220.

What are the best ways to reach the speedway before the race and get home after the race? 
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol, along with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, work hard to expedite traffic both in and out of the speedway. Their primary goal is to get you to the speedway before the race and to a major road as soon as possible. Please note that the Department of Transportation will counterflow traffic on roads surrounding the speedway for faster and more efficient traffic flow both in and out
