Weekly drag racing under the lights at zMAX Dragway returns this summer at the Outlaw Drag Wars.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. nightly, and the track will be hot from 7 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.

Most Fridays will have nightly features that can include burnout contests, drifting, and NHRA Wally races. Check out the full schedule for full details. 

All vehicles must pass NHRA tech inspection before making a pass.

A helmet is required for all drivers and motorcycle riders. Helmets are available for rent at zMAX Dragway at the inspection area Fuel will be available for sale near the tech area in the pits on the dragway's west side.

  • Admission is $30 per vehicle ($20 for junior dragsters)
  • $10 for spectators and crew members
  • Kids 13 and under get in free with a paying adult
  • Purchase upon arrival for the event

The Outlaw Drag Wars will feature special events most Friday nights from burnout contests, drifting, and NHRA Wally Races. Join us every Friday starting June 14th and Run through August 23rd with the exception of June 28th and July 5th. See the full schedule for all the details.

NHRA Wally Race

Rules & Format:

  • Open to All four wheeled vehicles that pass NHRA tech (No quads).
  • Bracket race dial in race.
  • Event will be run on 1/8 mile track with a .500 Sportsman tree.
  • Ladder eliminations will be established at quarterfinals (8 cars remaining)
  • Any “bye” will be established by best reaction time of the prior round.
  • Both vehicles with electronics and non-electronics allowed. Delay boxes, trans brakes, two steps
  • Maximum dial in allowed is 8.35 in 1/8 mile (13.00 ¼ mile)

Class Rules

Classes that will run at Outlaw Drag Wars

  • Motorcycle (Bike) Open to all superbike, sportbike, crusiers. No quads or three wheel vehicles allowed. Stretched chassis allowed. Slick and DOT approved rear tires allowed. Leathers, gloves and wrist engine cut off as written in NHRA rulebook. All bikes must pass and adhere to NHRA rulebook. Snell or SFI approved helmet as stipulated in NHRA rulebook. Category will be run on a 500 sportsman tree with handicapped start based on dial in. 1/4 mile., NO crosstalk. NO electronics, delay boxes. 2 (Or 3 ) steps allowed. Vehicle reaction must be generated by release of clutch handle on handle bars.
  • Domestic Cars/Trucks Open to all manufacturers headquarterd in US to include Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, Tesla. All powerplants, drivelines, transmissions, suspension allowed as long as adheres to NHRA rule book. Any size drive tire allowed. Category will run on 500 sportsman tree with handicapped start based on dial in. 1/4 mile. NO electronics, delay boxes, 2 (or 3) steps allowed. Vehicle acceleration must be generated by foot on accelerator pedal no three or four wheel quads.
  • Import Cars/Trucks Open to all manufacturers headquartered outside USA to include KIA, Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai. All powerplants, drivelines, transmissions, suspension allowed as long as adheres to NHRA rulebook. Any size drive tire allowed. Category will be run on 500 sportsman tree with handicapped start based on dial in. 1/4 mile., NO crosstalk. NO electronics, delay boxes,2 (or3) steps allowed. Vehicle reaction must be generated by foot on accelerator pedal. No three or four wheel quads
  • Top Eliminator class Open to all dedicated bracket cars, heads up door cars, dragsters, roadsters, altered. Electronics allowed, delay boxes, 2 step and 3 step All vehicles must pass NHRA tech. Category to be run 1/8th mile on a 500 sportsman tree handicapped based on dial in. MAX DIAL 6:40 1/8th mile (10:00 1/4) no three or four wheel quads
