Carl Edwards aced the All-Star qualifying challenge, flying through three laps and a four-tire pit stop in 1:52 Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, putting him on the pole for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star race.

Charlotte Motor Speedway is joining with business leaders from around the country to honor some 10,000 active military and family members before the green flag drops on NASCAR's ultimate test of man and machine, the May 26 Coca-Cola 600, as part of a Memorial Day weekend saluting the U.S. Armed Forces. Ron Ramsey will serve as Honorary Race Director for the 54^th running of NASCAR's only 600-mile race at the famed Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 26.

LiftMaster, the leading manufacturer of commercial door operators and garage door openers, is bringing the Firefighter Combat Challenge (FCC) to Charlotte Motor Speedway as a part of LiftMaster Pole Day and the Coca-Cola 600. Opening day of the Dollar General NHRA Four-Wide Nationals fueled by Full Throttle has been canceled due to rain and severe weather in the area. On-track action will resume as originally scheduled Saturday morning at 8 a.m., with Mello Yello Drag Racing Series qualifying scheduled for 12:15 p.m.

Nickelodeon’s iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will invade Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500 week, Oct. 11-13.  Look out for the famous shell-backs – Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo -- to bring their fast-action, high-adventure style of fun to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for a weekend of family entertainment.

Fans will enjoy a special treat at zMAX Dragway on the first night of the Sept. 14-16 O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals. A night of fire will launch the first race of the NHRA Full Throttle Countdown to the Championship. Included in the special night are a spectacular fireworks show, jet cars and an awe-inspiring nitro session under the lights.

Fans have come to expect plenty of speed, danger and fun on the track at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but on Oct. 13 they’ll be looking up – way up – for an aerial show that’s sure to delight during the Bank of America pre-race show presented by Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

No stranger to racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but still searching for his first Sprint Cup Series win at the 1.5-mile superspeedway, NASCAR’s   Brad Keselowski will trade in his steering wheel for a remote control when he and a select group of fans square off to race the Bank of America 500 on the world’s largest HDTV, Tuesday, Oct. 2.

The Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series will go out with a bang Tuesday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway with fireworks and appearances by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and former Legend Car racer Kyle Busch, as well as NHRA driver and B.R.A.K.E.S. founder Doug Herbert. Tonight, Round Nine of the Jack in the Box Summer Shootout Series will feature Power Wheels racing and First Responders bus racing. In addition, the Legend and Bandolero feature races that were postponed from Round Eight will be run prior to the Round Nine races. Fans who attended last week’s weather-shortened event can bring their tickets stubs for admission on Tuesday. Gates open at 5 p.m. with feature racing at 5:10 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and kids 13 and under get in free.

The dominant start of the 2012 season continued for Funny Car racer Robert Hight as he scored his fourth win in five races as he won the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway. The 28th running of the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race will provide some additional incentive for drivers to win one of the four segments heading into the final 10-lap shootout, as the emphasis on winning and pit road strategy have never been more prevalent in this special night of NASCAR star-studded competition. Through the annual Sprint Fan Vote, underway now, fans can again cast ballots for their favorite eligible driver. The driver receiving the highest number of votes will earn a spot in the field.

The Kangaroo Express Summer Shootout Series continues Tuesday night, July 27, with Mascot Mania and Kids Poster Night. Fur is sure to fly as several area mascots compete in racing's version of "The Fast and the Furriest."
