A sell-out crowd packed the stands Saturday night for the Circle K Back-to-School Bash presented by Mello-Yello to witness BigFoot win Eliminations and Stone Crusher conquer the Freestyle round at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
Dan Runte, driving crowd-favorite BigFoot 4x4 No. 21, defeated Gunslinger in the final round of Eliminations, getting ahead of him on the second lap.
Steve Simms, a multi-time winner at The Dirt Track, drove Stone Crusher to yet another Freestyle victory. Besting the competition with wheelies and jumps, shredding a majority of the body of his truck in the process.
Fans were also treated to an intergalactic battle between Reptar and Galactron, a stunt by Super Bob Airborne and freestyle motocross exhibitions.
The Fall Season of Speed continues next month with the NHRA Carolina Nationals and zMAX Dragway, Sept 18-20, and the AutoFair at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Sept 24-27.
