Start your Memorial Day weekend with us at the May STEAM Expo on Friday, May 24, as we kick off the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR weekend! This event will run from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and is open for students in grades 1-12. There will be hands-on STEAM activities in robotics, engineering, aerodynamics, traction and friction, technology, and more. Watch NASCAR racing practice on the iconic 1.5-mile track, have lunch in the grandstands, and stop by the Kids' Play Zone.

Can’t make the spring Expo? Don’t worry, we are revving up for the fall STEAM Expo happening Friday, October 11! Everything you love about the May event carries on with the fall Expo. Plus, students will have fun learning while on the scavenger hunt and be wowed as we use a little chemistry to blow up pumpkins in Lugnut’s Laboratory!
Yes! STEAM Expo is outdoors in the Fan Zone.
This event will be rain or shine.
This event is for all Grades 1 through 12.
No, adults must be accompanied by a student. Student price is $25. This is not a drop off event; adults must stay with student(s)
You can simply purchase your child's ticket through the following link.
Food can be purchased at the event or you may bring a bag lunch. Groups may pre-order a boxed lunch for $8 each. Boxed lunch includes hot dog, chips and drink.
There will be 40+ interactive stations focusing on force and motion, coding, reaction times, robotics, speed and acceleration and more!
Our partners include US Legends, Toyota Racing Development, Bank of America, UNCC Motorsports Engineering, Belmont Abbey, Discovery Place, NASCAR, G Force Robotics, Ford and the NASCAR Hall of Fame, just to name a few. Lug Nut’s Laboratory will be open and ready to experiment! The STEAM Team will be on hand with interactive STEAM stations talking about force, motion, speed, acceleration and more. There will also be driver appearances, pit stop challenges and giveaways.
*Due to limited quantities, giveaways will be reserved for paid students during this event.
