APRIL 4: The Evolution of the Ford Mustang and Motorsports
The STEAM Team presents The Evolution of the Ford Mustang and Motorsports during the spring Auto Fair! We’ll celebrate the 60th anniversary of this classic muscle car with cool STEAM activities highlighting the past and present of Ford’s performance on and off the track. Plus, take an exclusive walking tour down memory lane in the Showcase Pavilion as you get to see these cars up close.
Please note, this event is free-flowing and self-guided. Event will run from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Guests may arrive and depart anytime between event hours.
APRIL 27: Ten80 STEM Racing Nationals
Celebrate Science month with the STEAM Team! We have partnered with TEN80 Education and the NC Science Festival to bring the 2024 TEN80 STEM Racing Nationals to Charlotte Motor Speedway. This remote-control racing challenge will see teams from across the country battling it out to earn the coveted National Championship title.
Each team is comprised of students who focus on everything from engineering, coding and fabrication to marketing and community outreach strategies. These teams work hard throughout the year to get to this point.
Come cheer on your favorite team, walk through their pit areas and talk to the crew members. Learn more about Ten80 Education and how your club, class or camp can start a race team. Try your remote-control car skills on the STEAM Team’s demo race track. Who knows, maybe one day you will be vying for first place at the Nationals!
This is a free event but registration is required. Event runs from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. The event will be in the infield of the Speedway. Parking will be at the gate 12 parking lot outside of the infield. Shuttles will be running to accommodate guests in and out of the event site. Specific parking and event info will be provided closer to the event date.
