The 43rd annual Speedway Children's Charities Gala presented by Sonic Automotive, EchoPark Automotive and Sonic Powersports is set for May 21 at the all-new Ten Tenths Clubhouse.

Poised to be one of the most memorable nights in SCC’s storied history, the gala will honor “The King” himself, Richard Petty – a legend whose impact on motorsports is as iconic as his trademark hat. Set in the stunning new Ten Tenths Clubhouse—a venue that blends motorsports legacy with automotive luxury—this event offers a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, setting the perfect stage to honor a towering figure in racing history, all while raising vital funds for area children in need.

Headlining the evening will be GRAMMY Award-winning group Old Crow Medicine Show, whose string of hits from “Wagon Wheel” to “Sweet Amarillo” is sure to bring down the house.

To cap off the evening, world-renowned Chef Brett Moffett will prepare a first-class culinary experience, offering a gourmet menu crafted especially for the occasion.

For 43 years, the gala has served as a marquee fundraiser for Speedway Children's Charities' Charlotte chapter, a far-reaching nonprofit that assists children in need throughout the Charlotte area, which last year distributed over $1.4 million. The black-tie event features many prominent dignitaries from the motorsports industry as well as the nonprofit sector throughout Charlotte, the home base of Speedway Children's Charities since its founding by O. Bruton Smith in 1982.

Since beginning his legendary NASCAR career in 1958 at the Canadian National Exposition Speedway in Toronto, Canada, Richard Petty has amassed over 200 race wins, seven NASCAR Cup Series championships and a legacy that has helped define the sport. Widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history, Petty remains a beloved ambassador for the sport, both on and off the track.

Beyond his racing accomplishments, Petty has devoted much of his life to giving back through charitable efforts, most notably through the Petty family's Victory Junction camp, which provides life-changing experiences for children with serious illnesses. His unwavering commitment to helping others embodies the spirit of SCC.

Platinum-selling American string band, Old Crow Medicine Show, brings high-energy performances rooted in folk, bluegrass and country traditions to each performance, ensuring an unforgettable night of music and celebration.
