Following the massive success of their first sold-out live drive-in show at Charlotte Motor Speedway, The Avett Brothers have announced a second night on Friday, Oct. 23.
The first show, on Aug. 29, was a beacon of hope for live music, with fans experiencing the band’s first live concert in six months from nearly 1,500 cars on site, and another 10,000 Pay-Per-Views sold for the online live stream.

In anticipation of their second show, The Avett Brothers have shared a live performance of “Untitled #4” from their first night at Charlotte Motor Speedway, incorporating fan footage from both viewers in-person and at home. Watch “Untitled #4,” which Paste has proclaimed “the thematic and sonic center of The Third Gleam,“ here.
The Third Gleam is available now on vinyl, CD, and digitally via American Recordings/ Loma Vista Recordings (purchase/ stream here). In its first week of release, The Third Gleam vinyl has topped Billboard’s Vinyl Albums, Americana/Folk Albums, and Rock Albums charts at #1, and has debuted at #5 on the Top Current Albums chart. Written and recorded ahead of the pandemic and most recent social justice protests, the eight-song collection is nevertheless timely and universal as it reflects on themes of gun violence, incarceration, and mortality, but above all, love, hope, and resilience. The third in The Avett Brothers’ ongoing Gleam series, the album sees Seth and Scott Avett return to their roots sonically and as a trio with longtime bassist Bob Crawford. American Songwriter describes The Third Gleam as “sparsely arranged, amplified only by earnest emotion, simple sincerity and undiminished sentiment,” Esquire calls it, “a stripped down collection of sparse meditations on worth, meaning, and family,” and No Depression observes, “the dominant lens through which all is viewed on The Gleam III is an intimate one. These aren’t fiery sermons but journal scrawls.”
On Oct. 15, The Avett Brothers will close out A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote. The special will air on HBO Max and was organized to raise awareness for and support the vital mission of When We All Vote, a non-profit, nonpartisan organization co-chaired by Michelle Obama which was founded to increase participation in every election in America.
