The high-flying superstars of American motocross will square off against Europe's best riders on Sept. 2-3 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in the Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas, the only East Coast stop and the penultimate round of the FIM Motocross World Championship.

Justin Barcia is one of the leaders of a supremely talented American contingent that will wage a high-speed turf war on American soil. Barcia, also known as "Wild Child," is an accomplished 24-year-old New York native who competes for legendary NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs' JGRMX outfit based out of Huntersville, North Carolina.

Barcia has spent this season competing in two of the United States' top motocross divisions, where he's been a contender for wins on a regular basis, but the popular veteran of eight professional seasons will face a unique challenge when the gate drops on the first-of-its-kind SuperCourse at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. He'll have to beat the best Europe has to offer.

Slovenian Tim Gajser, the hottest motocross racer in Europe, will also take part in the Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas. Last year, Gajser won the title in MX2 - the second-highest level of international motocross - and in his first season of MXGP competition, he's won 13 of the season's first 24 races. Gajser's instant success since jumping to the top level of the sport has spotted him with an incredible 92-point lead in the world championship

Only 19, Gajser won't turn 20 until five days after the Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas. But the Gariboldi Honda rider's unmatched prowess this year means the man aboard the No. 243 - a number Gajser uses to honor his late brother, Zan - has to be a favorite in the two 30-minute-plus-two-lap motos that highlight an action-packed two days of world-class motocross at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
