Charlotte Motor Speedway and Speedway Children's Charities have something brewing on Saturday Feb. 15.

Race fans and car lovers seeking a new thrill will find it once the speedway's FREE Cars and Coffee cruise-in event - which starts at 7 a.m. in the Fan Zone - concludes at 10 a.m. Speedway Children's Charities will host a Laps for Charity event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., giving fans the unique opportunity to drive their personal cars around Charlotte Motor Speedway's iconic oval.

A $25 donation to Speedway Children's Charities is all it takes for attendees to go from hot coffee to hot laps paced by an official Charlotte Motor Speedway pace vehicle. Fans can pre-register by visiting a special SCC page on the nonprofit's website here, or by signing a waiver on Feb. 15 and picking up a wristband at Smith Tower. All money raised from Laps for Charity goes directly to Speedway Children's Charities, a far-reaching nonprofit which grants funding to hundreds of Charlotte-area charitable organizations.

The event follows the first iteration of Cars and Coffee Concord, which sees the speedway's Fan Zone transformed as car owners and enthusiasts gather to celebrate their shared passion for cars and showcasing their prized classics, customs and hot rods. There is no charge for car owners or spectators to participate.
