Jordan Black went from quarter midget racing to the quarter-mile at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the Bojangles' Summer Shootout series, and he now has his eyes set on motorsports' holy grail - NASCAR.
A native of Orlando, Florida, Black has made several advancements toward his goals, following in the footsteps of NASCAR drivers like Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt and Kyle Busch, Joey Logano and others who have used U.S. Legend Car racing as a stepping stone along their career path. Black took home the Bojangles' Summer Shootout In Light Wellness Pro championship, considered among the toughest fields in grassroots racing, last year. He won the Florida Young Lions state championship in 2012 and the Florida Pro state championship in 2015.
This season, Black picked up where he left off last year, driving his No. 14 Legend car to two wins and finishing in the Top 5 six out of the first seven races. With just three races standing between him and a second Bojangles' Summer Shootout championship, consistency has been key for the In Light Wellness Pro division points leader.
"Legend Cars have taught me so much as a driver," Black said. "The (Bojangles') Summer Shootout has propelled me into a better stage of my career. It's a good steppingstone to the next level."
And his efforts are already starting to pay dividends.
The reigning Bojangles' Summer Shootout champ has parlayed his most recent successes into a new racing opportunity with Weistec Engineering. Next season, Black will compete in IMSA endurance and road races in Anaheim, California. "I'm excited to start racing for Weistec," Black said. "We just have to figure out which series we'll race, but I'll start testing the cars later this year. It's a great opportunity. As long as I'm racing, I'm content with what's going on."

Additionally, fans can document their experiences using the hashtag #LetsBoRacing on social media.
Additionally, as a salute to the nation's brave defenders of safety and society, each law enforcement member attending a Bojangles' Summer Shootout event with valid identification card will receive FREE admission for the law enforcement member and their family.
Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with preliminary action starting at 5:10 p.m. Opening ceremonies are scheduled at 7 p.m., and feature races are scheduled to conclude by approximately 10 p.m.
