December is moving in with fresh moments of holiday magic as Speedway Christmas presented by Atrium Health rolls into another merry week of movies, music and memory makers.

SEASON OF GIVING:

The spirit of giving shines bright at Speedway Christmas this week. On Monday, Dec. 1, Blue Cross NC Drive Out Hunger Night invites guests to bring six healthy canned food items in exchange for FREE admission, with all donations benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Then, Dec. 4–7, Food Lion Feeds transforms the infield into Food Lion Holiday Lane, complete with treats, giveaways and festive fun. On Sunday, Dec. 7, guests can give back and save: donate five canned food items to receive $10 off admission at the gate, or donate $10 to receive a free general admission ticket valid any night through Jan. 4. Each contribution supports families across the Charlotte community and adds deeper meaning to a magical night under the lights.

MARKET & MAKERS:

This week, the Christmas Village welcomes a trio of talented vendors adding handmade charm and festive fun to the holiday season. Thread & Flame brings beautifully crafted goods perfect for gifting, while Build a Barnyard Friend offers a hands-on activity where guests can create their own plush farm animal to take home. Rounding out the mix, Pawsitively Inspired returns with treats, toys, candles and more to keep pets merry all season long.

FESTIVE TUNES:
The Christmas Village will come alive with festive harmonies throughout the week. On Dec. 5, the talented performers from Carson High School will make a joyful noise, followed by Queen City Vocals on Dec. 7, filling the village with bright, spirited holiday music.

SIGNING SANTA SLEIGHS:

Signing Santa returns Saturday, Dec. 6, bringing holiday cheer expressed in American Sign Language (ASL). Families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing can visit Santa in his workshop, share their holiday wishes, take festive photos and enjoy a warm, inclusive seasonal tradition that celebrates the true spirit of community.

QUEEN CITY NEWS MOVIE NIGHTS:

This week’s Queen City News Movie Night will feature Home Alone 2, presented by Food Lion. After cruising through the first half of the twinkling lights, settle into the infield and tune to 105.1 FM to watch Kevin McCallister take on New York City on the massive 80-foot-tall SpeedwayTV. The first showing starts at 6:30 p.m. with an encore immediately following. Movie nights are free with admission to Speedway Christmas.
