Continuing the legacy event started by Sherry Pollex and Martin Truex Jr. in 2009, Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) partnered with NASCAR and NFL stars Tuesday for an evening of fun, fashion and fundraising at Catwalk for Causes, presented by Cook Out.

In collaboration with the Kyle Larson Foundation, Samantha & Kyle Busch’s Bundle of Joy Fund and Greg Olsen’s HEARTest Yard, SCC’s Charlotte chapter hosted a fashion show, as well as silent and live auctions at the all new Ten Tenths Motor Club.

The sold-out evening saw some of Charlotte’s biggest sports names strut the catwalk alongside children whose lives were impacted by cancer, heart defects or IVF. Among other celebrated guests, the event was highlighted by NASCAR’s Joey Logano, John Hunter Nemechek and Daniel Hemric as well as former Carolina Panthers Luke Kuechly and Jonathan Stewart. At the end of the night, more than $450,000 was raised to support these impactful charities and the work they support.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING:

“Sherry Pollex put a lot of effort into this event and it is great to be a part of keeping her legacy going and put a smile on these kids' faces. Tonight's the best part. We enjoy dressing up and getting to hang out with the families and the kids and really just let them be the stars tonight.”

-Kyle Larson, NASCAR Cup Series champion and founder of the Kyle Larson Foundation

“There's so much that these kids go through on a daily basis. To be able to see them smile and enjoy themselves for a night is super rewarding for me. Having two girls, I can't imagine what some of the parents and the kids have to go through. So being able to bring a smile to their face and enjoy that moment with them, and raise money for a great cause, with the four charities that are here coming together for Catwalk for Causes this year, I’m super excited to be part of it.”

-John Hunter Nemechek, NASCAR Cup Series driver for Legacy Motor Club

“Being able to host Catwalk for Causes here at Ten Tenths Motor Club, to celebrate Sherry Pollex and how she made such a great impact on children and the motorsports industry around her, it's been really cool to be able to continue that legacy. There are a lot of friends here in the building and on the property tonight. It’s truly a special event.”

-Marcus Smith, Speedway Motorsports CEO and chairman

“It's always an amazing night for the kids. In the past, it's been so great to just see them light up on the runway. But tonight, it's really special for us to get to have our Bundle of Joy Fund kids here. And we brought Brex because obviously he’s the inspiration that started all of it. And so it's so neat that over the past 10 years, now he's buddies with them and tonight he'll get to walk the catwalk with them.”

-Samantha Busch, co-founder of the Kyle and Samantha Busch Bundle of Joy Fund

“What an amazing venue to be up here with some incredible other foundations in the local area that do such great work. Our family the HEARTest Yard – we’re just really excited to be a part of a fun night and a special night and help a lot of kids who really, really deserve it. We love them. We try to do everything in our power to improve their lives and improve their experience, not only through Levine Children's Hospital, but through their entire process of growing up.”

-Greg Olsen, former Carolina Panther, NFL analyst and co-founder of the HEARTest Yard
