Four races into the 2024 season, BetMGM bettors have gravitated toward favorites in NASCAR Cup Series championship betting, though they appear to be treading lightly.

As of Tuesday, March 12, no driver has more than 10% of the ticket share or 12% of the handle share in Cup Series championship betting at the online sportsbook. Four of the top five drivers in both ticket and handle share are among the top seven on the odds board. And the fifth driver, Kyle Busch, isn’t far behind at 11th.

Tickets:

  1. Denny Hamlin (+800, 4th): 9.6%
  2. Kyle Larson (+500, 1st): 8.5%
  3. Kyle Busch (+1600, 11th): 7.4%
  4. Chase Elliott (+1100, 7th): 6.8%
  5. Christopher Bell (+700, 3rd): 6.2%

Handle:

  1. Hamlin: 11.7%
  2. Larson: 10.4%
  3. Busch: 9.6%
  4. Elliott: 9.3%
  5. Bell: 7%

Bubba Wallace has emerged as the popular long-shot pick (+4000). After opening at +5000, he owns 3.6% of the tickets (10th) and 3.1% of the handle (10th), likely thanks to back-to-back top-five finishes to open the season.
