Dirt racing’s biggest stage is heating up as The Dirt Track at Charlotte hosts two action-packed weekends – the World Short Track Championship (Oct. 30 – Nov. 1) and World of Outlaws World Finals (Nov. 5 – 8) – featuring high-speed competition, Halloween fun and fan-favorite excitement for the entire family.
This year’s World Short Track Championship amps up the fun with Halloween festivities, including a costume contest, trunk-or-treat and more spooky surprises on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Then, double the excitement the following weekend as fans gear up for four straight days of World of Outlaws thrills. From the Hauler Parade to Fan Fest and the iconic 4-Wide Salute, the entertainment lasts all weekend long.
For the next two weeks, here are five can’t-miss attractions for fans during this dirt-slinging doubleheader:
HALLOWEEN HORSEPOWER
Join the fun Oct. 31–Nov. 1 as the concourse transforms into a Halloween House packed with themed car displays and festive activities. On Friday, head to the pits for trick-or-treating with Halloween Lug Nut. Saturday, enjoy a Trunk-or-Treat with fan-favorite short track drivers at 11 a.m. and show off your best costume in the 1:30 p.m. contest—where Speedway Christmas presented by Atrium Health Express Lane passes are up for grabs as the grand prize!
ALL ABOUT THE FANS
Kicking off World of Outlaws World Finals, Fan Fest is set to take over the midway Nov. 5 at noon, bringing fans the ultimate World Finals kickoff experience! The high-energy celebration will feature giveaways, live music and appearances from some of dirt-racing’s favorites on the Sage Fruit Fan Stage. Then, Dirty Grass Soul will turn up the volume with a live concert before DIRTvision hits the big screen for even more excitement. Fans can catch Race Day Live on the Sage Fruit Stage each day throughout the weekend, keeping the energy high from the first hauler to the final checkered flag.
4-WIDE SALUTE
Experience the greatest spectacle in dirt racing as the legendary 3x4-wide salute returns Friday night. Drivers from all three series – the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series, World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Models and the Super DIRTcar Series – take to the track, four-wide, in a stunning tribute to the fans. With fireworks lighting up the sky and nearly 200 roaring machines, this breathtaking display sets the stage for a night of unforgettable racing. It’s the only time all year that dirt racing’s three biggest series share the track.
50/50 RAFFLE
Beyond the roar of the engines, fans can make a difference through the Speedway Children’s Charities 50/50 Raffle. Last year’s World Finals raised a record-breaking $173,270, the largest jackpot in SCC history. This year’s total is expected to climb even higher, with every ticket purchased helping SCC continue its mission of supporting local children in need.
CHAMPIONSHIP CEREMONIES
As the dust settles and the final checkered flags wave, the World of Outlaws World Finals will close out with a championship celebration like no other. Fans are invited to honor the season’s top drivers as three champions are crowned on dirt racing’s biggest stage — complete with fireworks, fanfare and the electric energy that only The Dirt Track at Charlotte can deliver, bringing the season to a spectacular close.
