With legendary names, thrilling races and fan-favorite prizes, NASCAR Night presented by the NASCAR Hall of Fame delivered a full-throttle celebration of the sport’s best drivers. Fittingly on a night dedicated to the top tier of motorsports, the father-son duo of Kyle and Brexton Busch scorched the competition, both earning their third wins of the Cook Out Summer Shootout season. Meanwhile, Cash Lecroy extended his hot streak with another victory in the Chargers division during Round 4.
In true NASCAR Night fashion, the Busch name made it to Victory Lane after Brexton Busch dominated the Bandolero Bandits field. Although originally slated to start on the outside of row two, Busch capitalized on an early penalty to James Behnke, moving into the P1 spot before the first official green flag lap. From there, Busch never looked back, running away from the competition to secure a commanding Round 4 win.
Behind Busch, a chaotic battle brewed as Behnke, Gerald White III, Maverick Bradshaw and Teagan Knowland gave fans a true show battling for the second position. Knowland surged through the field early, picking off his opponents one by one to reach second by Lap 11 before Behnke reclaimed the position with a bold inside move in Turn 4.
With a dominating lead of over two seconds, Busch took his third victory of the summer on the legendary quarter-mile. Behnke held onto second, while Knowland settled for third. White III finished fourth and Bradshaw rounded out the field in fifth place.
BUSCH MASTERS THE QUARTER-MILE
In the American Rebel Ale Masters Division, another Busch added to his Hall of Fame resume, as Kyle Busch dominated the field, holding on to the top spot from the drop of the green to the checkered flag.
Despite a PRO-FABrication caution-filled race that took out half the field, Busch stayed clear of the chaos, gaining a lead of over one second each time the green flag waved.
Shawn Parked followed behind in second with Jesse Bunnell, Lee Jordan and Brandin Wrisley completing the top five.
Busch adds to his historic legacy at America’s Home for Racing, where he has amassed a remarkable 19 wins across NASCAR’s top three series.
LECROY GOES FOR THREE
In a commanding performance, Cash Lecroy jumped from second to the lead early in the race and never looked back, capturing his third straight victory in the Chargers division. The win also capped a dominant run, earning him a promotion to the VP Fuels Semi-Pro division for Round 5.
Polesitter Thomas Harris started strong, with Lecroy following close behind, immediately looking to use the inside lane to get around in Lap 1. While a 12-car pile-up led to a PRO-FABrication Headers and Exhaust caution flag on Lap 2, Harris and Lecroy made it out scratch-free.
After the ensuing caution, the battle for the lead quickly reignited until Lap 7, when the two drivers raced side-by-side into Turn 3 and Harris bobbled just enough to open the door for Lecroy to sneak through.
With back-to-back wins already under his belt, Lecroy was hungry for a third. He pulled away from the field, building a 1.5-second lead before the fourth PRO-FABrication caution flag was displayed and the race ended under caution. Lecroy secured his third straight win, followed by Rhylee Hutchins in second and Brexton Busch, continuing his climb up the Chargers' ranks, in third. Knox Bryant and Thomas Harris rounded out the top five.
Also crossing the finish line first, Brody Zacharias (Beginner Bandos), Rylan Speight (Outlaws), Spencer Bradshaw (Young Lions), Sam Butler (VP Fuels Semi Pro) and Jensen Jorgensen (Dilling, Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical Pros), all celebrating victory on the famed quarter-mile.
