After more than a month of preparation and more than 3,700 man hours of setup and testing, Charlotte Motor Speedway is ready to kick off its seventh season of Speedway Christmas on Saturday, Nov. 19.

Crews have been working since mid-October to string more than 3 million lights along the 3.75-mile course, which features spectacular synchronized lights-to-music displays and a bustling Christmas village complete with a petting zoo, photos with Santa, carnival rides and more.

Speedway Christmas officially kicks off Saturday night with the Egg Nog Jog 5K family fun run at 5:45 p.m. More than 1,500 runners have already registered for the non-timed walk/run through the lights. The drive-through portion of the show will open to cars at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and remain open nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Dec. 31 (closed Christmas Day).

Tickets are $20 per car Monday-Wednesday nights (lights only), $25 per car Thursday and Sunday nights (lights and village) and $30 per car Friday and Saturday nights (lights and village). Tickets can be purchased online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or at the gate.
